Description:
The WM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD13 (aminopeptidase N), a transmembrane ectoenzyme expressed on monocytes and granulocytes, but not on lymphocytes. CD13 is also found in endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, kidney proximal tubules, intestine, and placenta. It is involved in multiple biological processes including peptide degradation, amino acid scavenging, antigen processing, and cell adhesion/migration.

Applications Reported:
The WM-15 (WM15) antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL total volume).
Cell number range: 1×10⁵–1×10⁸ cells/test.

CD13 (ANPEP):
A 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types. Functions as a metalloprotease that removes neutral amino acids from small peptides, modulating bioactive peptide activity. Plays roles in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, inflammation, intercellular contact, motility, and vascularization.
Expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells.
Involved in protection of leukemic cells against apoptosis and associated with poor carcinoma prognosis.
Also serves as an α-receptor for coronavirus.
