Arfaptin 2는 trans Golgi network에서 금속단백분해효소(MMP)의 지속적 분비에 관여합니다. 특정 cargo subdomain에서 소포 생합성에 중요한 역할을 하며, MMP7 및 MMP2와 같은 분비형 MMP에 주로 사용될 수 있습니다 (PubMed:26507660). 또한 ATG9A 소포의 기아 의존적 수송을 조절하여 PI4-kinase를 자가포식체 시작 부위로 전달하는 자가포식 과정에 참여합니다 (PubMed:31204568).
