Target Information

HnRNP A1 belongs to the A/B subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). These RNA-binding proteins associate with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) and are involved in pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport. While most hnRNPs are nuclear, some shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. hnRNP A1 contains two quasi-RRM domains that bind RNA and is one of the most abundant core proteins in hnRNP complexes, localized mainly in the nucleoplasm. It is exported from the nucleus bound to mRNA and re-imported after transport.
