TCEB1 (Elongin C)는 전사 인자 B (SIII) 복합체의 서브유닛으로, RNA polymerase II의 전사 연장을 촉진합니다. SIII 복합체는 Elongin A/A2, B, C로 구성되며, Elongin A는 활성 구성 요소, B와 C는 조절 서브유닛으로 작용합니다. Elongin A2는 고환에 특이적으로 발현되며, Elongin B 및 C와 안정적인 복합체를 형성할 수 있습니다. 또한 von Hippel-Lindau 종양 억제 단백질은 Elongin B 및 C에 결합하여 전사 연장을 억제합니다.
