Target Information

Raf-1 (c-Raf) is a MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) functioning downstream of Ras family GTPases. Once activated, Raf-1 phosphorylates MEK1 and MEK2, which subsequently activate ERK1 and ERK2. Activated ERKs regulate gene expression involved in cell division, apoptosis, differentiation, and migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan syndrome 5 and LEOPARD syndrome 2.
