Product Specific Information
A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77780 was sufficient for detection of ATG4A in 15 µg of Human HeLa cell lysates by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 45 kDa.
Target Information
Autophagy is the process by which endogenous proteins and damaged organelles are destroyed intracellularly. It plays a crucial role in cell homeostasis, differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death, and aging.
Reduced levels of autophagy have been observed in certain malignant tumors, and it is proposed to contribute to controlling unregulated cell growth associated with cancer.
This gene encodes a member of the autophagin protein family and is also designated as part of the C-54 family of cysteine proteases. Transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
