Target Information
CD16 encodes a receptor that recognizes the Fc portion of immunoglobulin G and is involved in immune complex clearance, cellular mediated cytotoxicity, and enhancement of virus infections.
This gene (FCGR3A) shares high similarity with FCGR3B, located nearby on chromosome 1.
- Expression: FCGR3A — NK cells (membrane glycoprotein, transmembrane anchor)
FCGR3B — PMN cells (phosphatidylinositol anchor) - Associated Diseases: Immunodeficiency 20, Herpes Zoster, systemic lupus erythematosus, alloimmune neonatal neutropenia
