Target Information
Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis.
APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand), also known as TALL2 and TRDL1a, is a novel TNF family member identified in human and mouse.
Two receptors for APRIL have been identified: TACI and BCMA.
APRIL stimulates B and T cell proliferation, triggers humoral immune responses, activates NF-κB, and induces cell death.
APRIL and its close relative BlyS, along with their receptors BCMA and TACI, are implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer.
