Description:
The monoclonal antibody OX104 recognizes human CD200 (OX2), a member of the Ig superfamily with two Ig domains, a transmembrane, and a cytoplasmic domain. CD200 is expressed on resting and activated B and T cells, keratinocytes, nerve cells, follicular dendritic cells, and ovarian cells. Interaction with CD200R modulates macrophage activation, inhibits mast cell degranulation, and reduces TNFα and IL-13 secretion, contributing to immune regulation. Expression on trophoblasts suggests a role in maternal tolerance.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis and immunohistology of frozen tissue sections.

Applications Tested:
Validated by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test in 100 µL final volume. Optimal antibody titration is advised for each assay.

Target Information

CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein with two immunoglobulin domains, belonging to the Ig superfamily. It interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells to inhibit macrophage activation. Homologues exist in herpesviruses and poxviruses. In mouse and rat, CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and delivers inhibitory signals to macrophages. Multiple alternatively spliced variants exist. CD200 dysfunction is associated with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
