Product Specific Information

MA5-13871 targets Major Vault Protein (MVP) in FACS, GS, IHC (P), IP, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and Rat samples.
The immunogen is proteins precipitated with AER317 from the phosphocellulose column flow-through of extract of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells.

Target Information

This gene encodes the major vault protein, a lung resistance-related protein. Vaults are multi-subunit structures that may be involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport.
This protein mediates drug resistance, possibly via a transport process. It is widely distributed in normal tissues and overexpressed in multidrug-resistant cancer cells.
Overexpression may serve as a useful marker of clinical drug resistance.
This gene produces two transcripts using alternative exon 2 sequences; however, both have identical open reading frames.
