EFNB3 (Ephrin-B3)는 ephrin 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 뇌 발달 및 유지에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 특히 전뇌 영역에서 EFNB3 발현 수준이 높아 전뇌 기능에 핵심적인 역할을 할 것으로 추정됩니다.
EPH 및 EPH 관련 수용체는 receptor protein-tyrosine kinase의 가장 큰 하위 패밀리로, 주로 신경계 발달 과정에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 수용체들은 단일 kinase domain과 Cys-rich domain, 두 개의 fibronectin type III 반복 서열을 포함한 세포외 영역을 가지고 있습니다.
Ephrin 리간드 및 수용체는 구조와 서열 유사성에 따라 ephrin-A (EFNA)와 ephrin-B (EFNB)로 구분되며, EFNA는 GPI 결합형, EFNB는 막관통형 단백질입니다.
