Preparation:
Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Adiponectin. Anti-Human Adiponectin-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Target Information
Adiponectin is a protein hormone secreted exclusively by adipocytes that regulates lipid and glucose metabolism. It plays a role in physiological processes including homeostasis and obesity. Decreased levels of adiponectin are associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. In mice, adiponectin improves insulin signaling and reduces intramyocellular lipid levels by activating AMP kinase and PPAR-alpha, enhancing fatty acid transport and oxidation.
