Preparation:
Produced in mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BMP-4. Anti-Human BMP-4-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family, part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified for their ability to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo. BMP-4 plays a crucial role in bone formation and differentiation. Reduced expression has been linked to bone disorders such as Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva. Alternative splicing in the 5′ untranslated region has been observed, producing three variants that encode the same protein.
