Target Information
Beta actin is one of six actin isoforms identified in humans. It is a non-muscle cytoskeletal protein involved in cell motility, structure, and integrity. Beta and gamma actin coexist in most cell types as cytoskeletal components. Beta actin is ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells and often used as a loading control in protein detection assays such as Western blotting. Antibodies to beta actin are valuable tools for studying intracellular distribution and cytoskeletal dynamics.
