Target Information
The 26S proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex composed of two major subcomplexes: a 20S core and a 19S regulator. The 20S core contains four stacked rings (two α and two β rings), while the 19S regulator includes a base with ATPase and non-ATPase subunits and a lid with up to 10 non-ATPase subunits. This proteasome complex is essential for ATP/ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation in eukaryotic cells. PSMD10 encodes a non-ATPase subunit of the 19S regulator, with multiple isoforms and pseudogenes identified on chromosomes 3 and 20.
