Target Information
This gene encodes subunit 3 of the splicing factor 3a (SF3A3) protein complex.
The SF3A complex consists of subunits 1, 2, and 3, and is essential for the in vitro conversion of 15S U2 snRNP into the active 17S particle required for pre-mRNA splicing.
Subunit 3 interacts with subunit 1 through its amino-terminus, and its zinc finger domain mediates binding to the 15S U2 snRNP.
A pseudogene for this gene exists on chromosome 20.
