Target Information
This gene encodes subunit 3 of the splicing factor 3a (SF3A3) protein complex.
The SF3A heterotrimer (subunits 1, 2, and 3) is essential for converting 15S U2 snRNP into the active 17S particle required for pre-mRNA splicing.
Subunit 3 interacts with subunit 1 via its amino-terminus, and its zinc finger domain mediates binding to the 15S U2 snRNP.
A pseudogene of this gene exists on chromosome 20.
