Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo multiple post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
