This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Mouse CD4.

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed in a subset of T-lymphocytes (T helper cells) and may also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression is detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain, gut, and other non-lymphoid tissues.
CD4 functions to initiate or augment early T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck. It may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified for this gene (RefSeq, July 2017).
