This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Mouse CD28.

Target Information

CD28 antigen is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric T cell-specific surface glycoprotein. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is constitutively expressed on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes. CD28 serves as a critical T cell costimulatory receptor, providing the second activation signal through binding to CD80 and CD86 expressed by antigen-presenting cells.
In addition to co-stimulation, CD28 prevents T cells from entering an anergic or apoptotic state. In murine lymphoid tissues, CD28 is expressed on all CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. In the thymus, expression is highest on immature CD3-, CD8+, and CD4+8+ cells, as well as CD4-8- cells expressing α/β and γ/δ TCR. Expression levels decrease two- to fourfold in mature thymocytes.
Dysfunction of CD28 is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sezary’s disease.
