Target Information
Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 계열 단백질은 세포외기질의 분해에 관여하며, 배아 발달, 생식, 조직 재형성 등의 정상 생리 과정뿐 아니라 관절염, 전이 등 병리적 과정에서도 중요한 역할을 합니다.
MMP7은 proteoglycan, fibronectin, elastin, casein 등을 분해하며, 다른 MMP와 달리 보존된 C-말단 단백질 도메인이 없습니다. 또한 상처 치유 및 장 점막에서 defensin 활성 조절에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
해당 유전자는 염색체 11q22.3에 위치한 MMP 유전자 클러스터의 일부입니다.
