배경 (Background)
Integrin subunit alpha 3 (ITGA3)는 integrin alpha chain 계열 단백질로, 세포 표면 부착 분자로 기능하는 α- 및 β-사슬의 이합체를 형성합니다. 전구단백질은 프로테아제 절단을 통해 light chain과 heavy chain으로 가공되어 α3 서브유닛을 구성합니다. 이 서브유닛은 β1 서브유닛과 결합하여 laminin 계열의 세포외기질 단백질과 상호작용하는 integrin을 형성합니다. ITGA3 유전자의 발현은 유방암 전이와 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. (RefSeq, Oct 2015)
