  • This antibody was formerly sold as clone S289-16.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules across cellular membranes and are divided into seven subfamilies. This protein belongs to the MRP subfamily, involved in multi-drug resistance. It modulates ATP-sensitive potassium channels and insulin release.
Mutations and deficiencies in this protein are linked to hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia of infancy and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type II. Alternative splicing has been observed, but transcript variants are not fully characterized.
