Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL double-distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
Ships lyophilized at room temperature; store at -20°C upon arrival.
Reconstituted solution can be kept at 4°C for up to 1 week. For long-term storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors.
Metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs) are G protein-coupled receptors divided into three groups based on sequence homology, signaling mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties:

  • Group I: GRM1, GRM5 – activate phospholipase C
  • Group II: GRM2, GRM3 – inhibit cyclic AMP cascade
  • Group III: GRM4, GRM6, GRM7, GRM8 – inhibit cyclic AMP cascade with distinct agonist selectivities

Glutamatergic neurotransmission is essential for normal brain function and implicated in neuropathologic conditions.
