Specificity: This antibody binds to residues 218–233 of the V-B loop of MT1-MMP with a Kd of 2.32 × 10⁻⁹ M.
Target Information
Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family proteins participate in extracellular matrix breakdown during normal physiological processes such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in pathological conditions including arthritis and metastasis.
MMPs are typically secreted as inactive proproteins activated by extracellular cleavage.
MT1-MMP, a membrane-type MMP, contains a transmembrane domain and is expressed on the cell surface. This protein activates MMP2, contributing to tumor invasion mechanisms.
