Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, composed mainly of NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. These proteins are tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. NF-H plays an important role in mature axons and is associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
