Description:
Monoclonal rat IgG2a, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Use at the same concentration as the experimental antibody.

Fluorochrome Characteristics:
Super Bright 780 is excited by the violet laser line (405 nm) and emits at 780 nm. Recommended filter: 780/60 bandpass or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.

Staining Recommendations:
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Compensation Notes:
Higher compensation values may occur in the violet 450/50 channel when using UltraComp eBeads (Product # 01-2222-42) or AbC Total Antibody Compensation Beads (Product # A10497). In such cases, set compensation using cells.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

Rat IgG2a is an immunoglobulin subclass produced by the rat immune system, known for complement activation and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC).
It has a molecular weight of approximately 160 kDa and consists of two heavy and two light chains.
Commonly used as a control antibody in experiments involving rat models, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry.
