Target Information
The PPP2R5A gene encodes a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases involved in the negative regulation of cell growth and division. PP2A consists of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, which associates with various regulatory B subunits. The B56 alpha isoform encoded by PPP2R5A may modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. Alternative transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
