This antibody reacts specifically with human beta Amyloid (1-40).
No significant cross-reactivity to beta Amyloid (1-42) has been observed, and previous lots showed no cross-reactivity against beta Amyloid (1-43).
The antibody has been validated for use in ELISA, dot blot, RIA, and other related assays.
Target Information
Beta-amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein by gamma-secretase.
Amyloid beta (1-40) and Amyloid beta (1-42) are the two major C-terminal variants, which together constitute the majority of amyloid beta proteins.
Both alloforms are major components of extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue.
