Goats were immunized with purified human beta-2 glycoprotein 1 of serum or plasma origin. Antiserum was solid-phase adsorbed to ensure specificity. The antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using antigen coupled to agarose beads. Antibody concentration was determined by extinction coefficient (absorbance at 280 nm of 1.4 equals 1.0 mg of IgG).

Target Information

Apolipoprotein H (beta-2 glycoprotein 1) is involved in lipoprotein metabolism, coagulation, and the production of antiphospholipid autoantibodies. APOH may act as a cofactor for anionic phospholipid binding by antiphospholipid autoantibodies found in sera of patients with lupus and primary antiphospholipid syndrome, but is not required for reactivity associated with infections.
