• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum, and Fluorescein conjugated IgG.
No reaction was observed against anti-Pepsin or anti-Goat IgG F(c).

Target Information

FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate) is a fluorochrome dye that absorbs ultraviolet or blue light, causing molecules to become excited and emit visible yellow-green light. This emission ceases upon removal of the excitation light.

Fluorochrome labeling provides rapid and accurate localization of antigen-antibody interactions when one of the reactants is part of a cell, tissue, or other biological structure. FITC is commonly used as a marker for antibodies in immunofluorescent techniques since conjugation to proteins is relatively easy and generally does not destroy biological activity.

FITC is widely used as a hapten to label different proteins. Anti-FITC antibodies can be used for:

• Isolation of FITC-labeled cells by magnetic microbead sorting
• Removal of background signal in fluorescence assays
