Target Information
The FASTK gene encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase activated during Fas-mediated apoptosis in Jurkat cells. Upon Fas receptor ligation, it phosphorylates TIA1, an apoptosis-promoting RNA-binding protein. FASTK is a strong inducer of lymphocyte apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, with additional variants of undetermined full-length structure.
