This peptide corresponds to 17 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human MTERFD1.
PEP-1573 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34530.
For use as a blocking peptide in Western blot, incubate the peptide with an equal volume of antibody for 30 minutes at 37°C.
Target Information
Members of the mTERF (mitochondrial transcription termination factor) family are mitochondrial proteins believed to function as transcription termination factors.
MTERFD1 contains three leucine zippers forming a three-stranded coiled-coil that binds DNA, acting as a mitochondrial transcription regulator.
It is suggested that only the phosphorylated form of MTERFD1 exhibits transcription termination activity.
A closely related family member, MTERFD3, may regulate cell cycle and growth by modulating mitochondrial transcription.
