The 8A7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human BAFF receptor (B lymphocyte stimulator receptor), expressed on B cells.
BAFF (B cell-activating factor of the TNF family) regulates B cell survival and expression of CD21/35 and CD23.
Ligand-receptor interaction elevates CD21/35 and CD23 expression, while receptor blockade down-modulates expression.

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 13C (TNFRSF13C), also known as BAFFR, is encoded by the TNFRSF13C gene on chromosome 22q13.1–q13.31.
This transmembrane protein (184 amino acids) shares 56% identity with the mouse homolog.
BAFF enhances B-cell survival and regulates peripheral B-cell populations, playing a key role in B-cell development.
