Product Specific Information

The MU5UBEE monoclonal antibody reacts with human and non-human primate CD185 (CXCR5, also known as BLR1).
CD185 is a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor originally identified in Burkitt’s lymphoma. It is expressed on B cells, CD4⁺ T cells (excluding Th1 and Th2), and subsets of memory (CD45RO⁺) T cells.

In tonsil tissue, CD185⁺ cells co-express CD45RO, CD69, and ICOS, and play a role in B cell help and antibody production.
CXCR5 is critical for lymphocyte trafficking, particularly T cell migration to B cell follicles in response to CXCL13, serving as a key marker of follicular helper T cells.

Target Information

CXCR5 (C-X-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5, CD185), also known as Burkitt lymphoma receptor 1 (BLR1), is a G protein-coupled receptor for chemokine BLC. It is expressed in Burkitt’s lymphoma and lymphoid tissues such as lymph node follicles and spleen.

CXCR5 plays a crucial role in B cell migration and lymphocyte trafficking. Expression has been reported in human blood, salivary gland, and multiple animal tissues including lymph nodes, spleen, and tonsil.

As a member of the GPCR family, CXCR5 shares the seven-transmembrane domain structure and participates in signal transduction via G-proteins. GPCRs are major drug targets, with notable examples including Zyprexa and Claritin.
