For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve an antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT3 is a member of the STAT (signal transducers and activators of transcription) family. It is phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, translocates to the nucleus, and acts as a transcription factor in response to cytokines and growth factors. Coactivators such as CREB-binding protein are required for transcriptional activation by STAT3.

STAT3 activation can occur through Interferon-alpha, Interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, and IL6. Phosphorylation on tyrosine 705 by JAK1 and JAK2 is essential for dimer formation, nuclear translocation, and DNA binding. The STAT3 gene is located on chromosome 17q in humans.

STAT3 plays a key role in cellular processes such as cell growth and apoptosis. It interacts with transcription factors including c-Jun and CREB, and its activity is regulated by Rac1 and inhibited by PIAS3. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described. Deletion of the STAT3 gene in knock-out mice is lethal at the early embryonic stage.
