FGFR4(Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 4)는 수용체 티로신 키나아제(FGFR) 패밀리에 속하며, 혈관형성, 세포분열, 골형성, 근형성, 암 발생, 세포분화, 손상 후 조직 재생 등 다양한 세포 기능 조절에 관여합니다.
FGFR 패밀리는 암, 류머티즘성 관절염, 당뇨망막병증 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있습니다. FGFR4는 FGF19에 반응하여 담즙산 합성의 속도 제한 효소인 CYP7A1의 발현을 정상적으로 조절하는 데 필요하며, 출생 후 폐 발달 및 근육 세포 계통 발달에도 관여합니다.
