Target Information
The NT-3 (Neurotrophin-3) protein is part of the neurotrophin family that regulates survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. It is closely related to nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). NT-3 may contribute to maintenance of the adult nervous system and neuronal development during embryogenesis. NTF3-deficient mice show severe limb movement defects. The mature peptide sequence is identical across mammals including human, pig, rat, and mouse.
