Target Information
GPR54 (also known as KISS1R) is a galanin-like G protein-coupled receptor that binds metastin, a peptide encoded by the metastasis suppressor gene KISS1. This receptor is involved in the regulation of endocrine function and plays a role in the onset of puberty.
GPR54 is expressed in various human tissues including brain regions, placenta, pancreas, spinal cord, spleen, testis, thymus, and kidney, and is abundant in tumor tissues. In rats, it is expressed in liver, intestine, and multiple brain regions such as the hypothalamus, hippocampus, and cortex.
