Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms part of the NF-kB complex (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells). It heterodimerizes with subunits such as p50 or p52. Upon TNF-α receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent activation of NF-kB. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in the transcription of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
