Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 40% cross-reactivity with recombinant human S100A13 is observed.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human S100A1 and S100A11.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS before use.
Target Information
The S100A13 protein belongs to the S100 family, characterized by two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs.
These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes are clustered on chromosome 1q21 and include at least 13 members.
S100A13 is highly expressed in the thyroid gland and co-expressed with other S100 family members in smooth muscle cells, suggesting diverse roles in signal transduction.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
