Target Information
EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor)는 170 kDa 단백질 키나아제인 EGF Receptor(EGFR)에 결합하여 작용을 발휘합니다. EGFR 활성화는 다양한 세포 경로를 유도하며, 수용체는 다른 가족 구성원과의 homo 또는 heterodimer를 형성하여 각각 고유한 신호 전달 경로를 개시합니다.
EGF는 신장, 뇌, 전립선 및 침샘 등에서 광범위하게 발현되며 강력한 mitogenic factor로 작용합니다. 인산화된 수용체는 GRB2 등의 어댑터 단백질을 모집하여 RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK, PI3K-AKT, PLCγ-PKC, STAT 등 주요 하위 신호 경로를 활성화합니다.
NF-κB 신호 경로 활성화에도 관여하며, EGF 유전자 결함은 hypomagnesemia type 4의 원인이며 특정 암의 성장 및 진행과도 관련이 있습니다.
