The immunogen is a synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminus of mouse Claudin-3.
Target Information
Claudin 1–8 proteins are a family of transmembrane proteins associated with tight junctions. Tight junctions are specialized regions of cell-to-cell contact that act as molecular gaskets preventing leakage of ions and water between cells. They are abundant in luminal epithelial sheets and maintain epithelial cell polarity.
Different tissues exhibit different Claudin compositions, and differential expression has been observed in various malignancies, including breast, ovarian, liver, urinary, prostate, lung, head and neck, and thyroid cancers.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
