Target Information
MAP2K3 (MEK3) is a dual-specificity protein kinase involved in cellular signal transduction and glucose transporter expression.
It phosphorylates and activates MAPK14/p38-MAPK, can be activated by insulin, and is linked to oncogenic transformation via RAS expression.
Inhibition of MAP2K3 is associated with the pathogenesis of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported for MEK3.
