Target Information
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) Q is implicated in mRNA processing mechanisms. It is a component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. Isoforms 1, 2, and 3 are associated with pre-mRNA, splicing intermediates, and mature mRNA-protein complexes. Isoform 1 binds to apoB mRNA AU-rich sequences and participates in the APOB mRNA editosome complex, potentially modulating C-to-U RNA editing. It may also be involved in translationally coupled mRNA turnover and interacts with other RNA-binding proteins in mRNA decay processes. Isoform 3 may play a role in cytoplasmic vesicle-based mRNA transport via interaction with synaptotagmins. It is a component of the GAIT complex, which mediates interferon-gamma-induced transcript-selective translation inhibition during inflammation by binding to GAIT elements in 3'-UTR regions of inflammatory mRNAs.
