MA1-5779 detects Gemin3 in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and ELISA procedures.
MA1-5779 detects a band of approximately 105 kDa.
The immunogen is recombinant 6His-tag COOH-terminal domain of Gemin3.

Target Information

Gemin 3 is a member of the DEAD box protein family characterized by the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif and functions as an RNA helicase.
DEAD box proteins are involved in RNA secondary structure modification processes such as translation initiation, splicing, and ribosome/spliceosome assembly.
Gemin 3 participates in the SMN complex and may play a catalytic role in its function on RNPs.
Dysfunction of Gemin 3 is associated with spinal muscular dystrophy and muscular atrophy.
