The MYBPC2 gene encodes a fast-type isoform of the myosin-binding protein C family, localized in the C region of A bands in striated muscle.
Mutations in related isoforms are associated with:
- Distal arthrogryposis type 1
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
MYBPC2-related conditions include Lethal Congenital Contracture Syndrome 4 and Nemaline Myopathy 9.
