Cardiac Troponin T는 근육 수축 조절에 중요한 트로포닌 복합체의 트로포미오신 결합 서브유닛입니다. 이는 횡문근의 얇은 필라멘트에 위치하며 세포 내 칼슘 이온 농도 변화에 따라 근육 수축을 조절합니다. 인간 심장에서 발달 단계에 따라 4개의 cTnT 아이소폼이 발현되며, 심부전 시 발현이 변화합니다. Cardiac Troponin T 단백질의 돌연변이는 가족성 비후성 심근병증 및 확장성 심근병증과 관련이 있습니다. 해당 유전자의 전사는 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 다양한 조직 특이적 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
