Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody eBio84-3C1 reacts with CD43, also known as leukosialin, galactoglycoprotein, and sialophorin.
CD43 is a sialomucin involved in both adhesive and anti-adhesive cellular functions. It is expressed on most leukocytes except resting B lymphocytes, and its surface expression decreases upon activation. CD43 plays a role in activation of T cells, B cells, NK cells, and monocytes. Its counter-receptor is CD169/SIGLEC-1, expressed on macrophages.

• Pre-diluted and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells

Note:
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assessment with NovaFluor dyes.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), which provides improved performance compared to the original CellBlox.
Use 5 µL per sample (regardless of panel complexity). For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of sample containing 10³–10⁸ cells.

NovaFluor Conjugates

NovaFluor conjugates are based on Phiton™ technology, utilizing nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescent signatures with minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD43 (leukosialin, sialophorin) is a transmembrane mucin-like protein with a high negative charge, expressed on most hematopoietic cells.
It contributes to a repulsive barrier that modulates cellular adhesion and can promote leukocyte aggregation.
By interacting with actin-binding proteins (ezrin, moesin), CD43 regulates T-cell morphology and cell-cell interactions during lymphocyte trafficking.
It modulates LFA-1 adhesiveness and affects p53 signaling, influencing both immune regulation and tumor cell viability.
CD43 dysfunction is associated with Wiscott-Aldrich Syndrome and Adenoid Basal Cell Carcinoma.
