Target Information
Cyclins are regulatory subunits of cyclin-dependent kinases (cdks) that control transitions at specific phases of the cell cycle. Their temporal expression is tightly regulated and plays a key role in controlling cdk enzymatic activity. Cyclin/cdk complexes are essential for passage through specific cell cycle stages. In mammalian somatic cells, cyclin A is required for S phase and G2-phase progression.
